By the time I was in middle school, I had lived on three different continents.
Seeing the cultural differences at a young age made me appreciate and admire the differences in landscapes, people and ways of life.
To prove the adage that you’re never too old to try something new, I didn’t take my first formal watercolor class until my children were grown.
WHAT I’VE LEARNED
What I know to be true is that you can create beauty anywhere you are. You hold the power within you to see the world differently.
At seven years old, I knew that I wanted to become a teacher. I’m grateful to have had a professional teaching career in elementary and middle schools. Offering watercolor classes added another dimension to my teaching outside of a school setting.
I continue to attend classes and workshops for my own growth so that I can experiment with new techniques and styles. My recently renovated barn provides a welcoming place for individual or small group classes.
